Does the thought of creating a strategic plan feel like climbing Mt. Everest?

The air is crisp and clean but just cold enough to warrant caution when taking a deep breath. The view is breathtaking and everything you imagined. Your current altitude is more than you thought you could have climbed although it was always part of the plan.

Mountaineering

You are elated and genuinely grateful for where you are and the adventure of the climb thus far. And, you are equally aware of the truth that what got you here will not take you all the way to the top – which is your final goal, of course. You look around and survey the land. Based on your current location, you realize it may a wise time to inventory your current position, your proposed plan, and the final objective. It is time to recalibrate and recalculate. However, at this height, doing anything without first taking stock could be costly.

Have you ever felt this way in your business? Strategic planning helps set priorities, focus energy and resources, and clarify intended results. It is planned, calculated and deliberate and I would include relevant – being both valuable and timely. The Bible even speaks about it: "Strategic planning is the key to warfare; to win, you need a lot of good counsel. Wise conversation is way over the head of fools; in a serious discussion they haven’t a clue." Proverbs 24:6 & 7 (MSG)

What does all of this mean for YOU? In order to “climb” the proverbial “mountain of business”, one of your mountain climbing “partners” needs to be strategic planning! You would do well to have it accompany you throughout your climb. Without it, you may not take the best route at the right time with the right resources. Much like the mountain, the circumstances and conditions are always changing so you must be prepared to change along with them in order to reach your desired destination.

You cannot do it alone. Whether you merely require an objective assessment or you need an actual partner for your next leg, I highly recommend you write your plan with BlueInc Strategies!
